Newport Showhouse Guild Announces Designers for 2006 Designer Showhouse
NEWPORT, RI – March 22, 2006 - The Newport Showhouse Guild announced today the selection of twenty-three leading interior designers to participate in the Guild’s 2006 Designer Showhouse. This year’s event, “Charity by Design,” will be held at Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County and the Star Kids Scholarship Program. The Designer Showhouse is open to the public from May 5-June 3rd, 2006.
“We are thrilled with the talent and energy these designers are bringing to this year’s Showhouse,” said Caroline Slee, President of the Newport Showhouse Guild, “We are quite literally breaking new ground with two new homes on the beautiful Carnegie Abbey site, overlooking Narragansett Bay.”
The newly constructed homes, built by the Horan Building Company of Newport, are a first new constructions in the 11-year history of the Designer Showhouse, Ms. Slee noted.

The Newport Showhouse Guild has raised over $300,000 for the Newport charities benefiting women and children.
